Terms of Use

1. The agreement
These terms are between you and JengaPulse. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not, please do not use JengaPulse.
You must be at least 13 to use JengaPulse, and at least 18 to buy a subscription. Some features, particularly sobriety tracking, are written for adults.
2. JengaPulse is not medical advice
Read this one. JengaPulse is a tracking and information tool. It is not a medical device, and nothing in it — calorie targets, nutrition estimates, generated workouts and meal plans, mood analysis, or the AI chat — is medical, nutritional, psychological or clinical advice.
Do not use it to diagnose or treat anything. Talk to a qualified professional before making significant changes to your diet, exercise or treatment, particularly if you are pregnant, managing a medical condition, taking medication, or recovering from substance use.
In an emergency, contact your local emergency services. The app's crisis resources are signposting, not a crisis service, and we cannot monitor what you log or respond to it.
Sobriety tracking and mood check-ins are self-management aids. They are not treatment, and they are not a substitute for professional care or a recovery programme.
3. Your account
Signing in uses a one-time code sent to your phone or email, or Sign in with Apple or Google. Keep access to that phone number or inbox secure — anyone who can receive your code can reach your account.
One account per person. Give accurate information, particularly the profile details that calorie and activity targets are calculated from — wrong inputs produce wrong targets.
4. Subscriptions and billing
JengaPulse is free to use. Plus and Premium unlock additional AI capacity and deeper history, and are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions.
- Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us, and is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
- Cancel any time in your device's subscription settings — Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period, and you keep access until that period ends.
- Prices are shown in the app in your store's currency and may differ between countries. If a price changes, your store will tell you and, where required, ask you to confirm before renewing.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases.
If a subscription lapses, paid features stop and your data stays. Nothing you logged is deleted because a subscription ended.
5. AI features
Meal scanning, recipe and workout generation, and the AI chat are powered by third-party AI models. You will be asked to consent before the first use.
These features produce estimates and suggestions, not facts. Nutrition read from a photo is approximate. Generated plans are not written by a professional who knows your history. Check anything that matters, and use your judgement.
Fair use applies: daily limits are set per plan, and we may throttle or suspend access if usage is automated or abusive.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Break the law, or use JengaPulse to harm yourself or anyone else.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code.
- Use bots, scrapers or automation against the app or our API.
- Work around plan limits, or interfere with billing.
- Upload anything unlawful, abusive, or that infringes someone's rights.
- Resell or redistribute the app or its content.
- Probe or overload our infrastructure.
7. Your content
What you log is yours. You keep ownership of your entries, photos and journals.
You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content for the sole purpose of operating the app for you — showing your history, calculating your totals, and running the AI features you asked for. That is the whole scope: we do not publish it, sell it, or use it to train models.
The app itself — its design, code, and content we wrote — belongs to JengaPulse.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep JengaPulse running but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and occasionally be removed. If we remove something significant that you are paying for, we will tell you in advance.
These terms may change. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect, and the date above will be updated.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting your account: Profile → Privacy & Security → Danger Zone → Delete Account. That removes your data permanently, as described in the Privacy Policy. Cancel any active subscription separately in your store settings — deleting the account does not cancel billing.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first.
10. Liability
JengaPulse is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on information in the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of your own country's mandatory law.
